Urgent appointments
We run daily urgent care surgeries for acute problems such as suddenly feeling poorly over the previous 24 hours or so. You will need to contact the practice from 8am to book an urgent care appointment. These appointments are given out until 8:30am generally and, depending on availability, sometimes till 8:45am.
These appointments are not for conditions that you have discussed with a GP in a routine appointment before that require a further routine appointment, however if you think you need an urgent appointment, please contact the practice.
We try to run to time as far as possible. Inevitably, an appointment can run over time, so please bear with us if you have to wait. To keep surgeries running as smoothly as possible, please help us by remembering the following points:
- remember, an appointment is for one person only
- please do not save up multiple problems for one appointment slot
To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday) during opening times:
- phone us on 0161 983 0251
Routine appointments
You can request a routine appointment in advance during opening times.
We will respond to requests within 7 working days.
You can also:
- phone us on 0161 983 0251
- use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) or Patient Services to book an appointment, screening test or vaccination
- use our nurse or healthcare assistant appointment request form and we will respond within 7 working days
Phone consultations
If you wish to speak to the doctors or nurses by phone, you should expect the following:
- To be asked by the receptionist for brief details of your requirements, so that the medical urgency of your call can be assessed
- If your call is medically urgent, eg chest pains, shortness of breath, severe bleeding etc, your call will be put through to the doctor on call immediately
- For non-medically urgent calls you will be asked to give a contact number for the doctor/nurse to contact you, when they are not seeing patients
